Back in February 2011, the city of Detroit started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to have a Robocop statue built  (as many of you know, this is where the films were based). They needed to raise $50,000 to get this giant produced, and they managed to raise a staggering $67,436.

Well now, a little over 2 years later, this is finally underway, with the main sculpt finished by Frank Barton.

The sculpt is now on its way to Venus Bronze Works for casting and manufacturing.

I once had a massive statue of me built in fancy dress. I dressed up as Abe Lincoln, and sat in a chair for no good reason, and those crazy people in Washington D.C loved it so much, they made a memorial out of me. Those guys.

To celebrate the opening of Mishka – San Fransico, Johnny Ryan and Shigeru Arai teamed up to produce this killer NagNagNag. Available at the opening reception on Friday (April 12th), these will be sold on a lottery basis.  Shig will be in attendance to personally hand out each piece (that usually retail for around $850). Each one comes with a full NAG comic strip drawn by Johnny Ryan.

When artist Brad McGinty does something, he doesn’t hold back. He puts a huge amount of effort and time into finding the right papers for his prints, making videos to go along side Christmas cards, and gives everything meaning. Nothing feels like a space filler, and you always know time and effort have gone into whatever he does.
